Research Interests

Current research activities include:

Organometallic chemistry, heterogenous catalysis, polymer supported catalysts, enantioselective alkylations.

Short Curriculum Vitae

Manolis Stratakis received his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Crete in 1995. In his last year he worked on the catalytic properties of porphyrins under Prof. A. Coutsolelos. He received his PhD from the University of Sheffield as a Marie Curie fellow under the supervision of Dr C. White. His thesis title was “Approaches towards reusable enantioselective alkylations catalysts”. From 2002 to 2008 he taught Chemistry at Technological Institute (TEI) of Crete. From 2008 to 2019 he worked in the secondary education and in January 2019 he joined the Department of Materials Science and Technology as teaching and laboratory staff.
